Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall are expected in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region from 22nd to 23rd September, with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated locations. Rainfall is expected to ease slightly from 24th to 25th September, with light to moderate showers remaining “very likely.”
By 26th September, heavy rains may return to isolated pockets, keeping
the risk level elevated throughout the week.
District-wise Outlook
Palghar: Widespread thunderstorms are forecast for the 22nd and 23rd, followed by moderate rainfall midweek, with heavier showers expected at isolated locations by Friday.
Thane: High chances of rain and thunder are predicted throughout the week, continuing until Friday.
Mumbai: Persistent showers are expected, especially during early and late week, with moderate spells in between.
Raigad: Thunderstorms are likely to occur at the start of the week, with isolated heavy rainfall expected towards the weekend.
Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Low-lying areas may experience flooding, and transport services could face disruptions. Residents are advised to follow local weather updates and safety advisories throughout the week.
