USA icon LeBron James opened up on the possibility of his participation in the 2028 edition of the Olympics, slated to be held in Los Angeles, where the legend plays now.
In a recent episode of the ‘Mind
The Game’ podcast, James stated that he will not compete at the quadrennial spectacle and would enjoy the Games as a spectator.
“You already know my answer,” James said.
“I will be watching it,” he added.
The 40-year-old James scaled yet another milestone in his illustrious career as he took part in LA Lakers’ win over Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
The win marked James’ 23rd season in the NBA, as he went past the legendary Vince Carter’s record of 22-years to become the player who has appeared in the most number of seasons.
James had been sidelined since early October with an issue that kept him off the court for more than a month.
However, momentum shifted last week when he quietly participated in multiple practices with the South Bay Lakers, the team’s G League affiliate, including full 5-on-5 sessions, with no reported setbacks. James had spent several days working with South Bay while the Lakers completed a gruelling five-game cross-country road trip.
And all the work on his recovery yielded dividends when his 30-minutes on court helped his net 11 points and set up another 12 in Lakers’ win over Jazz.
Last season, James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game, earning both All-Star and All-NBA Second Team honours.
