Rajkummar Rao Confirms Playing Sourav Ganguly In Biopic

In 2025, Rajkummar Rao officially confirmed that he will be portraying former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly in the much-awaited biopic. The actor announced after Ganguly confirmed the casting in an earlier interaction. In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Rajkummar Rao confirmed the news and said, “Now that Dada has already said it, let me also make it official – yes, I am playing him in his biopic. I am nervous… It’s a huge responsibility, but it’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said.

Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra’s quirky comedy, Toaster, is finally releasing. The actor today announced, along with a fun video. The film is releasing on April 14 on Netflix. In 2025, the makers shared the teaser, which received immense love. Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary and produced by Patralekhaa, Toaster brings a vibrant ensemble including Archana Puran Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Farah Khan, Upendra Limaye, Vinod Rawat, Jitendra Joshi, and Seema Pahwa.

Netflix shared the announcement and wrote, “Monologue sunn liya na?  Zabar-toast comedy hone wali hai Watch Toaster, out 15 April, only on Netflix.” The teaser opened with Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra preparing to attend a wedding.
