Mumbai, Jun 15 (PTI) Logistics firm Delivery on Monday announced the launch of a nationwide network of over 1,000 platform-dedicated rest facilities for delivery associates in close to 600 cities and towns, including major hubs and emerging markets.
These facilities, “vishram” which are spread across cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Lucknow, will support the well-being of all delivery personnel across the country irrespective of their platform, parent organization, or sector, including those working in e-commerce, quick-commerce, food-tech, and traditional courier services, the company said.
“As the backbone of India’s digital commerce, delivery associates routinely navigate highly demanding conditions, from
extreme weather to a deficit of essential roadside infrastructure. Through the ‘Vishram’ initiative, we are actively addressing this structural gap,” said Prashant Gazipur, Chief Operating Officer for Operations at Delhivery.
Each of these centres is fully operational, designed to offer relief during demanding shifts and safe shelter during heavy rains, harsh weather, and late-night delivery hours.
By opening our network of over 1,000 such centres for all delivery partners, regardless of platform, the company aims to establish a higher standard for gig worker welfare, Gazipur added. PTI IAS MR
