Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola scripted history on Sunday by becoming the quickest to reach 250 Premier League victories as City got the better of Brentford.
Guardiola romped to his 250th PL win in just 349 games, beating legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson who required 404 games to accomplish the same feat. Guardiola joined an elite club including the likes of iconic Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger and Everton stalwart David Moyes.

“It is an honou for me to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. I’d invite them to a nice dinner,”
“Maybe not in Manchester, maybe a place with a little more sun. Nah, we do it in Manchester,”
the Spanish tactician jested.
“It really is a pleasure to be part of that Premier League history, and I’d like to thank the club, the organisation, the player and all the staff I had. There are a lot of matches coming in fast and we did it quicker, faster and better. So, I’m very pleased,” he continued.
“Let’s go for 250 more,” the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss said.

Erling Haaland’s lone strike in the ninth minute of the game proved to be the decisive touch. However, it wasn’t all good news for Guardiola as Rodri suffered yet another injury and had to be substituted in the first half. The Spanish Ballon d’Or winner, who missed most of last season due to an injury, dropped to the ground clutching the back of his right knee before walking off gingerly.
City climbed to fifth in the Premier League table with 13 points from seven outings so far, which include four wins, a draw, and two defeats in the ongoing season.
