Kolkata Knight Riders welcome Rajasthan Royals to the Eden Gardens for an enticing encounter between the sides in the ongoing edition of IPL 2026 on Sunday. The teams, positioned in contrasting ends of the table will look to pip each other out in the contest between the two, with different aspirations in mind.
RR, who have managed to win four of their five outings will look to picks up a win to strengthen their claim to the top-4 spots, while KKR, on the other hand, will look to get their first win of the season in their sixth attempt.
Cameron Green
The big-hitting Aussie, who has struggled to find for early in the IPL 2026 following his blockbuster purchase at the auction table for a whopping sum, seems to have found some touch on the back of
his half-century against Gujarat Titans, which ultimately went in vain. Green, who has tanked in his initial attempts came good against GT, and will hope to continue his run.
Varun Chakravarthy
The wily spinner, who has been a menace with the leather in hand over the past few years, also had to endure initial struggles in the tournament before picking up a couple of wickets and living up to his vast potential in the game against GT, which the Knights pushed to the very last over despite having to defend a total of 180 runs. Chakravarthy looks to have found his rhythm and will be crucial for the chances of the three-time title-winners.
Tim Seifert
The Kiwi batter was brought into the team vs GT at the cost of compatriot Finn Allen, who has largely been underwhelming in the tournament so far, but failed to make an impact at the top of the order, but Seifert will look to get his eye in if KKR were to hand him another opportunity to open the innings.
Vaibhav Soooryavanshi
The teenage prodigy has an incredible past 18 months with noteworthy knocks at every event he had participated in. He seems to be in imperious form, even taking seasoned pacers and spinners to the cleaners in his bid to get RR off to a flier, which he does successfully more often than not.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
RR’s OG young southpaw at the top of the order has gone from strength to strength with each passing edition of the IPL and Jaiswal has continued to attack the opposition bowlers in the ongoing edition of the tournament to great effect too. He will look to add to his tally of runs when his side visits the iconic stadium in Kolkata.
Ravindra Jadeja
The veteran all-rounder, who returned to RR ahead of the ongoing season on a trade which sent Sanju Samson to CSK, and has picked up where he left off ahead of his switch to the five-time winners. Jadeja’s overs have been crucial in the side’s fortunes thus far and the southpaw will look to continue the positive start he has had to return to the Royals.
