Patna, Jul 31 (PTI) The Bihar government has disposed of more than 5.33 lakh of over 5.83 lakh public grievances received under the state’s recently launched Sahayog Shivir initiative, leaving a pendency rate of 5.18 per cent, a senior state government official said on Friday.
The initiative, launched on May 19, has received 5,83,866 applications so far, of which 5,33,904 have been disposed of, 19,718 rejected, and 30,244 are pending, he said.
According to data provided by the General Administration Department (GAD), Patna has the highest percentage of pending cases at 9.33 per cent.
A total of 28,206 applications were received in the district, of which 24,663 were disposed of, 911 rejected and 2,632 are pending.
Addressing a press conference here,
GAD secretary Md Sohail said, “The Sahayog Shivirs have received 5,83,866 applications so far, of which 5,33,904 have been disposed of within about two to two-and-a-half months, while the remaining cases are under process.” Sohail said more than 53.8 crore applications have been processed under the Bihar Right to Public Services (RTPS) Act, 2011, for services such as caste, income and residential certificates.
“The state government introduced an automated appeal mechanism for delayed RTPS services on June 23, under which applications automatically move to the appellate stage if not disposed of within the prescribed time,” he said.
Since the mechanism was introduced, 6,934 appeals have been auto-generated, of which 5,503 have already been disposed of, he added.
Over 19.38 lakh grievances have been disposed of under the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act since January 22, 2016, through dedicated officers posted at divisional, sub-divisional and district levels, Sohail said.
Separately, 16,106 grievances filed by serving and retired government employees have been resolved under the Bihar Government Employee Grievance Redressal System, introduced in 2019.
Sohail informed that under Saat Nischay-2 and -3, a total of 10,27,839 people were provided employment, of which 8,19,634 were recruited on a regular basis and 1,32,558 on a contract basis.
The state government has forwarded requisitions for filling 1,72,218 vacancies across departments during 2025-26 and 2026-27 to various recruitment commissions and boards, while the requisition for the fourth phase of the Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE-4) has also been approved, he added.
The Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme, implemented in collaboration with IIM Bodh Gaya, has deployed 107 management experts across government departments to strengthen governance through modern administrative practices, he added. PTI SUK MNB
