An IndiGo aircraft scheduled to fly from Kolkata to Agartala was hit by lightning while parked at Kolkata airport on Friday as severe thunderstorms lashed the city.
Passengers were safely deboarded in line with standard safety procedures, and the aircraft underwent mandatory inspections.
Two IndiGo ground staff members who were reportedly affected by the incident received medical attention and are now in stable condition, sources told PTI.
Passengers were later accommodated on an alternate aircraft and flown to Agartala, while the damaged plane remains grounded pending further inspections.
IndiGo declined to comment on the incident.
The Airbus A320neo was carrying more than 140 people, including crew members. Boarding had been completed when lightning
