Meerut (UP), Jul 27 (PTI) Meerut Police on Monday directed more than 50 DJ operators to strictly adhere to guidelines issued by the state government and district administration to ensure the peaceful, safe and orderly conduct of the Kanwar Yatra.
Addressing a meeting attended by police and administrative officials, Superintendent of Police (City) Vinayak Gopal Bhosale said DJ (disc jockey) systems used during the yatra should not exceed 12 feet in height and 10 feet in width.
He also directed operators to keep sound levels within the prescribed limits.
Bhosale instructed the operators not to play obscene, objectionable or provocative songs or audio content that could disturb religious or social harmony during the pilgrimage.
He also asked them to
ensure that DJ vehicles do not obstruct traffic or create unnecessary congestion on roads and to strictly follow the designated Kanwar routes and directions issued by the administration.
The SP (City) appealed to the operators to extend full cooperation to the police and district administration during the yatra and immediately inform the local police or administrative authorities in case of any emergency or untoward incident.
He also directed them to pay special attention to the safety of DJ vehicles and equipment and exercise caution while passing under overhead power lines and at other accident-prone locations, according to an official statement. PTI COR KIS RUK RUK
