RBI MPC Meeting 2025 Live Updates: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Sanjay Malhotra-led Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will announce its decision on the repo rate today, December 05. The announcements at the conclusion of the three-day MCP meeting will begin at 10:00 AM Today and will be live-streamed on various platforms, including RBI’s official YouTube and X platforms.

Experts remain divided on whether the central bank will resume rate cuts or extend its pause, especially after a stronger-than-expected economic performance last quarter. While a majority still expect an interest rate reduction, some experts believe the central bank is likely to keep the rate unchanged in the backdrop of better-than-expected GDP growth of 8.2 per cent in the second

quarter.

India’s GDP grew 8.2 per cent in the September quarter, beating forecasts and strengthening arguments for maintaining policy support.

The retail inflation, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), is ruling below the 2 per cent lower band mandated by the government for the last two months. In October, the CPI inflation had stood at a multi-decade low of 0.25% amid GST rate cut, favourable base effect and a fall in prices of food items like fruit and vegetables.
