Aerial footage of the massive traffic jam during the Thanksgiving getaway in Los Angeles is going viral on social media. The footage captured by news helicopters revealed massive backups along the 405 Freeway, where brake lights can be seen stretched for miles.
In the video, thousands of vehicles, forming a sea of red lights, can be seen waiting to arrive at their destination, which several people referred to as a true Thanksgiving tradition.

video shared on social media, one side of the road looked yellow and another side red; both seemed at a standstill as thousands of vehicles were stuck ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday season.

Meanwhile, the traffic is likely to surge this weekend. The American Automobile Association (AAA) estimates that about 73 million people across the United States will travel by car over the Thanksgiving weekend, 1.3 million more than last year. According to ABC News, this year will be the busiest holiday periods in decades.
