Bhubaneswar, Apr 23 (PTI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said his government is moving forward with a goal to make the next decade a golden age for the state’s youth.
Speaking at the Business Eminence Awards 2026 here, Majhi said, “Before completing two years, our government has received investment proposals worth Rs 20 lakh crore. Industrial projects to the tune of Rs 2.80 lakh crore have already been launched during the period, which would create employment for more than 2 lakh people.” Several national and international companies have started investing in Odisha because “they see opportunities and stability here, and have faith in the clean governance”, he said.
Along with the semi-conductor sector, huge investments are
coming in electronics, green energy, data centres, modern manufacturing and new infrastructure, Majhi said.
“The goal of our government is clear – to create such an investment environment where industry grows, people benefit and the youth get jobs,” the CM said.
Majhi said the most important goal of his government is to empower the youth and create ample opportunities for them.
“Odia boys and girls will study in Odisha, become skilled in the state, and get employment within Odisha,” he said.
The youth of the state will not only be job seekers, they will be job providers, too, Majhi said.
“The next 10 years will be a golden age for our youth. We are moving forward with that goal,” the CM asserted.
Development should reach every district, every block, every panchayat and every village of the state, he said.
“This is why the state government is giving special incentives to MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, startups, self-help groups, agriculture-based enterprises and young innovators,” he added. PTI BBM RBT
