A car with a bomb threat message was found parked outside the Mumbai residence of Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an immediate security response, police said.
It is learnt that a WagonR car was spotted near Raut’s ‘Maitri’ bungalow in the Bhandup area with a threatening message written on its dust-covered window.
The message read, “Aaj hoga hungama, 12 am bomb blast hoga” (There will be chaos today, bomb blast at 12 am).
Raut’s supporters alerted the police after noticing the message. Following this, personnel from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and Mumbai Police rushed to the spot and carried out a thorough search of the premises.
However, nothing suspicious was found during the inspection of Raut’s
residence. As a precautionary measure, the parked car was seized.
Officials added that a case was being registered against an unidentified person in connection with the bomb threat, and further investigation was underway to trace the source of the message.
