What happened with Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia following the Latent controversy is no secret, and now Pranit More is on the radar of trolls after a video from his show featuring derogatory remarks circulated online. How is Samay’s case different from Pranit’s case? Let’s find out.
The Latent controversy sparked major backlash following an episode featuring Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, asking a hypothetical question directed at a contestant. On a broader level, it was also about the content being promoted on Latent and the kind of language being used. Along with that, during Latent, the joke was made by Ranveer, and Samay got involved in it as it was his show, leading to multiple FIRs. Meanwhile, in Pranit’s case,
he didn’t make the derogatory remark. Though the audience is offended by him for not correcting the mistake then and there, he himself wasn’t the one who made the remark.
Following the outrage over the content, multiple FIRs were filed against Samay Raina, and it took a long time for an official apology to come. Meanwhile, in Pranit’s case, the first major action taken against him was that his Instagram account was taken down, and later an FIR was filed against him and the 22-year-old boy who made the remark at his show. Meanwhile, Pranit was quick to put out an apology, and he has received support from his industry friends, who have called it a mistake and not an intentional attempt to hurt anyone.
While what happened with Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina is known to all, for Pranit More, it is too soon to say anything as the case is still unfolding.
What happened in Pranit’s show
The controversy began during one of Pranit More’s live shows when an audience member, Himanshu Jangra, was invited into a conversation. During the interaction, Jangra spoke about taking a woman out on a date and spending around ₹370 on biryani. However, what sparked outrage was his suggestion that because he had paid for the meal, he expected intimacy in return. Many viewers who later watched the clip accused Jangra of treating dating like a transaction and reducing a woman to something that could be “earned” in exchange for money spent on a meal.
