Senegalese-American singer Akon has reached India ahead of his much-anticipated three-city India tour. Today, on Sunday afternoon, a video of him arriving in the capital city with his wife Tomeka Thiam
surfaced on social media. Akon, who is on a three-city tour in India, will be performing at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.
The video of Akon arriving in Delhi was shared on several paparazzi pages. Tired after a long flight, the couple happily posed for the camera, but when asked if he was excited to be back in India, Akon said, “It’s been a long flight, I’m tired,” while his wife added warmly, “India, we love you!”

Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead Of Akon’s Delhi Concert
Akon’s concert, which is scheduled to take place today, was supposed to kick off at 5 pm, and with a spectacular turnout expected, the Delhi traffic police issued an advisory with traffic movement restrictions in place from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. These restrictions include that Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) will not be permitted to ply between JLN Stadium Red Light and B.P. Marg during this period.
Bengaluru and Mumbai to Follow
After Delhi, Akon will head to Bengaluru for a concert on November 14, 2025, followed by a performance in Mumbai on November 16. Organised by District, the tour has been described as “one of the most anticipated music events of the year,” promising high-octane shows and memorable fan experiences in all three cities.
Akon’s Last Visit To India
Before this tour, Akon last visited India to perform at the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. His appearance became a viral moment, especially during his performance of Chammak Challo from the film Ra.One, where he was joined on stage by Bollywood legends Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
Akon later shared a video of the performance on Instagram, calling it the “best pre-wedding party of the year.” The video featured Shah Rukh Khan dancing alongside his wife Gauri and daughter Suhana, while Salman Khan was seen enthusiastically playing the drums during the show. Also joining the stage were singer Sukhbir and the bride and groom themselves, making the night a celebration to remember.
