Travis Scott is all set to perform in the capital city, Delhi, for his maiden India tour, and fans are gearing up for the exciting concerts this weekend. Travis Scott will perform twice in the city on October
18 and 19, allowing many fans to secure tickets for the highly anticipated events. However, as it turns out, the American rapper’s fans may have secured one too many tickets and are now scrambling to sell them online just a day ahead of the concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Adding insult to injury, several resellers have listed tickets for as low as Rs 2,000, even below the original prices on BookMyShow.
A scalping platform named Viagogo, a renowned secondary ticket marketplace the country collectively learned about during the chaos that Coldplay brought, is back in the news again, and this time for Scott’s Delhi tickets.
A Reddit user shared a screenshot of Viagogo that indicated several tickets were being resold for fraction of the original prices.
Scam Or Legitimate?
Remember when Coldplay’s Rs 4000 ticket was listed for a whopping Rs 7.5 lakh? The high or low price of a secondary market ticket doesn’t guarantee the legitimacy of a ticket. It all really depends on the reseller: whether they are genuine or not is a gamble.
Whichever the case here, tickets are still “available” on Viagogo and a glance at the website shows they aren’t listed for prices anywhere close to Coldplay’s. In fact, many of these resellers (scalpers) have lowballed the ticket prices.

For instance, the “Silver” section of the stadium is originally priced at Rs 6500 on BookMyShow. The tickets for this standing-only section are available for Rs 3000, half the original listed price.

The cheapest ticket available for the 18 October concert is priced at Rs 1834.
Note: Purchase these secondary market tickets at your own discretion. News18.com cannot verify the authenticity of either these tickets or the resellers on the Viagogo website.
Lack Of Hype – Diwali
Many ticket sale posts have cropped up on social media for several reasons. Diwali was the biggest of them all. The fans admitted, in several listings, that they had initially bought the tickets because of the hype and FOMO, only to realise later that the concerts fell bang during Diwali. Unable to travel from a different city to Delhi or asked to ditch the concert and stay home to celebrate the festivities, these ticket holders then queued up on Instagram and Reddit in hopes of selling them.
“I bought B block for 8 fu****g k from a resller just when the show was announced. f**k this sh*t man. My crime – I was a genuine travis fan who really wanted to go to the concert and failed to get tickets myself from BMS, (sic)” wrote one Reddit user.
“I bought silver standing for 13k,” wrote a second.
Another listed the lessons they learned from the whole experience.
“Always check for any big festives / exams / family functions before buying the tickets. If you wanna buy it from a reseller do it just before the show date so you know how the market is and can secure tickets for way less (sic).”
Karma For Coldplay?
Fans aside, scalpers have purportedly gotten screwed owing to the current lukewarm hype around Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus Stadium tour here.
A poster on Reddit admitted he was done “scalping” after he allegedly bought “too many tickets” and was unable to resell them.

“All these scalper dudes who thought they’d make easy money are getting cooked. Some of them legit flew in from other cities with like 10 tickets each, now crying and selling them at 70% discount, (sic)” they wrote.
Despite the online circus of tickets and a few fans not attending the concerts, the gigs were expected to be packed.
