Philippine Airlines to launch flight services to Delhi, Mumbai from Manila

Mumbai, Sep 28 (PTI) Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday announced its plans to launch flight services to Delhi and Mumbai from Manila, starting in December this year.

Flights on the Delhi-Manila route are planned to be operated three times a week, while Mumbai-Manila will operate four times a week, the Philippines flag carrier said in a statement.

PAL said it will deploy its 168-seater A321neo in a two-class configuration — 12 lie-flat business class seats and 156 economy class seats — on the two new routes.

The new routes will give Indian travellers direct access to the Philippines and convenient onward connections through PAL’s Manila hub to destinations across Southeast Asia, North America, Australia and North Asia, it said.

“We look forward

to welcoming more Indian travellers aboard Philippine Airlines and introducing them to the Philippines through our signature Filipino hospitality,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall.

“Through Manila, they will also gain access to PAL’s wider network of destinations across Asia, North America and Australia,” he added.

Through Manila, travellers arriving from Delhi and Mumbai can connect to Philippine destinations including Cebu, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Davao with further overseas connections to Los Angeles, Vancouver, Honolulu, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Tokyo Haneda and Hong Kong, the airline said.

The services will also strengthen PAL’s cargo capacity, allowing shipments from India to connect through Manila to the airline’s broader domestic and international cargo network, it stated.

Indian nationals travelling to the Philippines for tourism or business may enter the country visa-free for up to 14 days, subject to applicable entry requirements, the airline said.

PAL operates scheduled nonstop flights from its hubs in Manila and Cebu to 29 destinations across the Philippines and 40 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East. PTI IAS MR
