Daniel Craig is back with the much-awaited third instalment of the Knives Out franchise. Titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the film is all set to make its Netflix debut after hitting selected theatres on November 26.
As per Deadline reports, following the success of the previous two instalments, Netflix bought the rights to the Knives Out franchise in a reported $400 million deal, including a second and third film.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Netflix Release
On November 26 Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery premiered in selected theatres across the US. The film is expected to have a limited theatrical run before moving to digital platforms. The much-awaited film is set to premiere on Netflix on December 12.
What To Expect
From Knives Out 3?
According to the official logline, in Knives Out 3, Benoit works together with “an earnest young priest to investigate a perfectly impossible crime at a small-town church with a dark history.” During an interview with Tudum, director and writer Rian Johnson shared details about the film and revealed, “Themes of guilt, mystery, morality, and fallible humanity all feel right at home in a church, with a man of God in the centre of the mix.”
The preview of Knives Out 3 features Craig’s Benoit trying to solve the murder of Monsignor Jefferson Wicks and declares, “With all the pieces on the table, this crime appears impossible.”
Knives Out Season 3 Cast
In the third instalment of the Knives Out franchise, Daniel Craig reprises his role as Benoit Blanc from the previous films. Other cast members in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery include Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church.
Glenn Close joins the rest of the cast members in this film. Previously, during an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that filming the movie was “truly one of the best experiences of my life. I’m filming in London with Rian Johnson. He’s such a fine human being. He’s kind; he’s brilliant. He has a great laugh!”
Will There Be A Knives Out 4?
While Netflix has not yet confirmed anything, Johnson is likely to be on board to make more films if the script feels right. During a 2022 interview with Variety, he shared, “I’ll keep doing it as long as Daniel Craig and I are having a good time. I’ll keep making these as long as they let me.”
