Chuseok, one of South Korea’s biggest and most loved festivals, is a time when families come together to give thanks and share traditional dishes. But this year, Jung Jiwoo, BTS member J Hope’s sister,
couldn’t join her family for the celebration. In a recent vlog, she shared how much she missed being part of the yearly family gathering. While she couldn’t be there, her brother J Hope stepped in to help their mother with the preparations. From assisting in the kitchen to taking over the tasks Jiwoo usually handled, the BTS singer turned into the perfect son and brother for the occasion. Fans were touched to see this personal side of him.
In her vlog, Jiwoo begins by sharing that she is in Tokyo, Japan, for work, which is why she couldn’t be in Korea for Chuseok this year. Since she missed the family celebration, she requested her parents and brother to record the preparations at home and they did it perfectly. The video beautifully captures J Hope helping in the kitchen. He is seen cracking and whisking eggs, coating meat in batter and chopping ingredients beside their mother. Their father took charge of filming the entire process, turning it into a sweet family moment.
J Hope had a fun time in the kitchen as he was seen teasing his parents while helping them make various food items. He carefully tasted the seasoning and adjusted it until he liked its taste. Later, during the ancestral ceremony, he stood beside his father and helped him with all the rituals.
Watching the video, Jiwoo mentioned that her brother looked almost like their father’s twin. She jokingly said he was acting like a wooden puppet, doing whatever his dad asked without question. With a laugh, she also called him a “high-quality helper” and “expensive labour,” making it clear how much she enjoyed seeing her brother take over her usual duties at home.
Along with the other BTS members, J Hope has completed his mandatory military service this year. After reuniting, the group has been busy working on a new album under Hybe over the past few months. This upcoming release is especially exciting for fans, as it will be BTS’s first group album in six years. The album is planned to come out by the end of March 2026.
