Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee released a fresh batch of 68 photos obtained from the estate of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Thursday, featuring numerous high-profile public figures. This came one day before the deadline set for the Trump administration to release a larger group of Epstein files.
“We will continue releasing photographs and documents to provide transparency for the American people. It’s time for the Department of Justice to release the files,” said the House Oversight Committee. This is the third tranche of over 95,000 photos acquired by the committee from Epstein’s estate.

The release includes images of lines from the novel “Lolita” written on a person’s body, various travel documents, a screenshot of text messages about an 18-year-old from Russia, and more. “These new images raise more questions about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its possession,” said Robert Garcia, a ranking member of the Oversight Committee.
Who Is Shown In The New Photos?
Some of the new images show Epstein speaking with professor and activist Noam Chomsky aboard a private plane, and Bill Gates standing beside a woman whose face is redacted. Trump aide Steve Bannon was seen sitting at a desk across from Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event. Notably, merely appearing in the photos is not evidence of any wrongdoing, and many figures seen in the Epstein files have denied involvement in his illegal activities.
Some of the other pictures lack context, including one showing Epstein and several others in what appears to be a conference room with a chalkboard and kitchenette. One photo shows two camouflage compound bows, and another shows a pill bottle.
The most important images are those showing a passage of the novel ‘Lolita’ written on someone’s body. The first blurry image showed a line from the novel written on a woman’s chest, which read, “Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth.”
Other lines were scrawled on a woman’s foot, hip, neck and back. Notably, Epstein kept a first edition copy of “Lolita” in the office of his New York City home, according to the New York Times. The novel is about a man’s obsession and sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl.
Another picture shows a screenshot of a series of text messages from an unknown sender. The messages refer to an 18-year-old from Russia and mention someone asking for “1000$ per girl”. The message includes redacted personal information for an individual’s name, age, measurements, weight and “departure city”. There are also a number of photos of female passports and identification documents from countries around the world, including Lithuania, Russia, and the Czech Republic.
Deadline For Trump Administration Looms
Last week, the Oversight Committee released 92 photos of Epstein’s estate, which showed US President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and billionaires Bill Gates and Richard Branson, among other high-profile figures. The White House accused Democrats of “cherry-picking” the photos to “create a false narrative” about Trump, CBS News reported.
Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which President Trump signed into law last month, the Department of Justice has until December 19 to release its files. The extent of what’s contained in the DOJ’s files is unknown, and it’s likely that much of the content will be heavily redacted, similar to House Oversight Committee materials.
