Axar Patel entered his name in the history books on Tuesday, April 21, by becoming the second cricketer in the world to play 100 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches for Delhi Capitals. The ongoing IPL 2026 match between DC and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on Tuesday is Axar’s 100th IPL match for the Delhi-based franchise.
Before Axar, only Rishabh Pant has managed to play 100-plus matches in the IPL for Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils).
In the list of players with most IPL appearances for Delhi Capitals, Pant and Axar are followed by Amit Mishra, David Warner and Shreyas Iyer.
While former India spinner Amit Mishra played 99 IPL matches for DC from 2008 to 2021, Warner featured in 89 IPL matches for the Delhi-based franchise across
two spells and Iyer played 87 matches from 2015 to 2021.
