Varanasi Man Dies By Suicide, Accuses Wife Of Infidelity In Video Message: ‘Main Bahut Pyaar Karta Tha’

A man in Varanasi died by suicide due to his wife’s alleged infidelity and the domestic conflict between the couple. A video doing the rounds on social media shows the last message of the deceased, identified as Rahul Mishra. In the seven-minute-long clip, Rahul claimed that his wife was cheating on him, due to which he had decided to end his life.

In the video, Rahul also said that his wife, Sandhya, was not allowing him to meet their son. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, the couple had a four-year-old son, Reyansh.

Varanasi Man’s Final Message

Rahul said that he did not like it when his wife slept with other men. He claimed his wife was in a relationship with Shubham Singh, and this had led to marital discord between them. Sandhya later

left home with her son to stay at her parents’ house. He also said she had filed a dowry harassment complaint against him. Rahul said that when he tried to meet his son the previous day and reconcile with his wife, he was not allowed to do so. Shattered by the turn of events, he decided to end his life.

He was later found hanging in his room, according to a Zee News report. The matter is under investigation.

Rahul And Sandhya’s Relationship

Rahul lived in Bankat village, where he worked as a driver for a local businessman. He met Sandhya when he was driving his employer’s daughter to the Gangapur campus of Kashi Vidyapeeth. Rahul soon developed a close relationship with Sandhya. Four years ago, his family had arranged his marriage somewhere else. Sandhya reportedly slit her wrist and consumed medicines to take her own life, Dainik Bhaskar reported. She was hospitalised, and a compromise was reached between the families for Rahul and Sandhya’s marriage. The couple’s marriage was stable until Sandhya met Shubham Singh, the report added.

As per a Bhaskar report, Sandhya’s complaint had led to Rahul being jailed for three months. She later filed for divorce, demanding a settlement of Rs 30 lakh. Four days before his demise, Rahul was reportedly assaulted in the Karauta market by Shubham and his companions. His mother filed a police complaint.

Rahul’s Mother Accuses Wife

Rahul’s mother, Rani Devi, revealed that Rahul was also burdened by financial debt, including dues to local shopkeepers as well as car loan instalments. She said Sandhya had filed four complaints against Rahul in three police stations, leading to more stress.

Police Arrest Sandhya And Her Mother

Following a complaint by Rahul’s mother, the police registered a First Information Report against Sandhya and her mother. The FIR also charged Sandhya’s rumoured boyfriend, Shubham Singh, with abetment to suicide. Station House Officer Rajbahadur Maurya told Dainik Bhaskar that Sandhya and her mother have been arrested. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene of the death, and further investigation is ongoing.
