The entertainment industry bid a tearful goodbye to veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, who passed away after a long battle with cancer. The actor, best known for playing Karna in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, was
cremated in Mumbai on October 15. Several Bollywood and television celebrities attended the funeral to pay their last respects, including Salman Khan, Dipika Kakar, and Shoaib Ibrahim.
In emotional visuals that surfaced online, Deepika Kakar was seen breaking down as she attended the ceremony with her husband, Shoaib. Both were dressed in simple white outfits, a symbol of mourning. Dipika was seen hugging someone close before wiping her tears and holding Shoaib’s hand as they made their way toward the main ritual area. The couple’s quiet presence reflected deep respect and support for their friend Nikitin Dheer, who was visibly heartbroken.
Nikitin Dheer’s Emotional Post Before His Father’s Demise
Hours before his father’s passing, Nikitin Dheer had shared a cryptic and emotional message on Instagram. The post read, “Whatever comes, let it come. Whatever stays, let it stay. Whatever goes, let it go. As a Shiva bhakt, say ‘Shivarpanam’ and move on! He’ll take care! Very hard to do.” The message struck a chord with fans who later expressed condolences after news of Pankaj Dheer’s death broke.
Salman Khan Pays His Respects
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was also among those who attended the funeral. The actor, dressed in an olive-green shirt, looked sombre as he offered condolences to the Dheer family. Salman and Pankaj Dheer shared a warm friendship that dated back decades, having worked together in films such as Sanam Bewafa (1991) and Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge (2002).
Pankaj Dheer had reportedly recovered from cancer once but the illness returned a few months ago, ultimately taking his life. He was laid to rest in the presence of colleagues, friends, and loved ones from both the film and television fraternities.
