A Blinkit delivery agent whose video on low daily earnings recently went viral, sparking public outrage, met Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha.
Chadha invited Thapliyal Ji, who hails from Uttarakhand, to his
residence for lunch. The meeting came days after the MP raised concerns in Parliament about poor pay, long working hours and the lack of social security for gig workers.
Thapliyal Ji later posted clips of his meeting with the MP on his Instagram account. In the videos, he described Chadha as a warm and approachable person. He said he felt heard and respected during the interaction.
During their conversation, the delivery executive spoke about the everyday struggles faced by delivery partners. These included long and unpredictable working hours, fluctuating income, pressure from algorithm-based targets and the absence of proper grievance redressal systems or basic protections.
The meeting comes days after a video of Thapliyal Ji went viral. In the video he revealed that he earned Rs 763 after completing 28 deliveries over nearly 15 hours in a single day.

The video, which resurfaced online recently, sparked sharp reactions from users who questioned whether such earnings were fair or sustainable.
Sharing the video on X, Chadha termed the situation as “systemic exploitation hidden behind apps and algorithms.”
He said India’s growing digital economy must guarantee fair wages, reasonable working hours and social security for those who keep these platforms running.
The episode has further fuelled conversations around regulating gig work in the country. Many social media users and labour advocates have called for stronger legal protections and greater accountability from platform-based companies.
