The company reported a 29.16% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 558 crore for the second quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 432 crore in the corresponding quarter last
year.
Revenue from operations rose 12.95% to Rs 3,897 crore in Q2 FY27, against Rs 3,450 crore a year ago. Total consolidated income increased 12.88% to Rs 3,950 crore during the quarter.
What Drove Marico’s Strong Q2 Performance?
Marico’s September-quarter performance was supported by healthy volume growth in its domestic business, improving gross margins and sustained momentum across its international markets.
The company’s India business delivered 10% underlying volume growth, while its international business recorded 13% constant currency growth (CCG).
The India business reported revenue growth of 9.83% to Rs 2,916 crore. According to the company, over 95% of its domestic business gained or sustained market share and penetration on a moving annual total (MAT) basis.
Traditional and organised trade channels recorded double-digit growth, while quick commerce continued to accelerate.
Another major positive was the improvement in operating margins. Marico’s gross margin expanded about 600 basis points year-on-year, supported by moderation in copra prices and a favourable product mix.
Ebitda grew 27% year-on-year, marking the company’s strongest growth in 50 quarters. Net profit of the India business increased 31%, its highest growth in 51 quarters.
Foods Business Grows 45%; Parachute Volume Growth Accelerates
Marico also reported strong growth across several of its key product categories. Its Parachute Rigids portfolio recorded 13% volume growth, the highest in 22 quarters. However, revenue growth remained nearly flat due to price reductions undertaken earlier in the year following the easing of copra prices.
The Value-Added Hair Oils segment, which includes brands such as Parachute Advansed, Nihar Naturals and Hair & Care, registered 21% value growth. It also gained 80 basis points in value market share on a MAT basis.
The company’s foods portfolio delivered 45% growth, crossing an annualised revenue run rate of Rs 1,500 crore.
Meanwhile, its premium personal care and digital-first businesses continued to expand. The digital-first portfolio, which includes brands such as Beardo and Plix, reported an annualised revenue run rate of Rs 1,150 crore.
International Business Maintains Growth Momentum
Marico’s international business reported a 23.39% increase in revenue to Rs 981 crore during the September quarter. Vietnam remained a key growth market, delivering 22% constant currency growth, supported by healthy performance across product categories and accelerating e-commerce sales.
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) business recorded 15% constant currency growth, while South Africa and the NCD & Exports business registered growth of 15% and 17%, respectively.
Bangladesh delivered 5% constant currency growth, with the company expecting a gradual improvement in the coming quarters despite persistent inflation and subdued consumer demand.
Marico FY27 Outlook
Marico reaffirmed its FY27 growth outlook, targeting double-digit revenue growth and revenue of more than Rs 15,000 crore, alongside mid-twenties growth in Ebitda.
The company expects its India business to deliver double-digit volume growth, while its international business is likely to see accelerating constant currency growth in the second half of FY27.
Commenting on the results, the company’s MD and CEO Saugata Gupta said, “The strength of our first-half performance underscores Marico’s evolution into a more resilient and diversified business, with several growth engines and a proven ability to deliver strong growth across commodity cycles. Robust momentum across the portfolio and several businesses reaching new highs, alongside multi-quarter high operating profit growth reflect the strength of our franchise and execution.”
