Jaipur, May 4 (PTI) Several parts of Rajasthan were lashed by rain and dust storms under the influence of a western disturbance, bringing some respite from the intense heat on Monday.
Srimadhopur in Sikar district recorded the highest rainfall of 48 mm in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 am today.
The light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds was recorded at isolated places across the state in the last 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur said.
From 8.30 am to 5.30 pm today, Chittorgarh recorded 7 mm rainfall, followed by 3.2 mm in Bhilwara, 2.6 mm in Kota and 1 mm in Dabok.
The weather activity brought down maximum temperatures in most parts of the state, with the mercury hovering between 30and 43 degrees Celsius
today.
Phalodi was the hottest at 43 degrees Celsius followed by 42.3 degrees in Jaisalmer, 41.8 degrees in Barmer, 41 degrees in Jodhpur and 40.4 degrees in Bikaner.
State capital Jaipur recorded 33.3 degrees today. PTI AG RT RT
