For the unversed, the movie was released in theatres on July 23 after certification-related delays pushed it beyond its original January release. Several paparazzi videos show Ravi Mohan’s arrival at the theatre, where he joined fans to experience Vijay’s much-awaited, final big-screen outing. Soon after, another set of videos from inside the theatre surfaced online, showing Ravi Mohan cheering loudly, clapping and blowing whistles during Vijay’s entry scene.

Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller directed by H. Vinoth and backed by KVN Productions. The film stars Vijay in the lead role, alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju, with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani in supporting roles.

The film holds special significance as it marks Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s final appearance on the big screen before he entered politics. It is also the first Tamil production from KVN Productions. The project was first announced in September 2024 with the working title Thalapathy 69, referring to Vijay’s 69th film as a lead actor, before the makers revealed the official title in January 2025.

Originally planned for a January 9, 2026 release, Jana Nayagan faced delays due to issues surrounding certification between the producers and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), leading to a postponement of its theatrical release.
