The best time to perform the Lakshmi Puja is during the Muhurat, which is from 7:08 PM to 8:18 PM on October 20.
The auspicious Pradosh Kaal lasts from 5:46 PM to 8:18 PM, while Vrishabha Kaal falls between 7:08 PM and 9:03 PM.

Diwali 2025: Lakshmi Puja Rituals
- Start the day early by cleaning your home and paying respects to ancestors and family deities.
- Many people also perform shradh rituals since Diwali falls on Amavasya Tithi.
- Some devotees observe a day-long fast, breaking it only after the evening puja.
- Decorate your home with marigold flowers, mango or banana leaves, and Ashoka branches.
- Placing a mangalik kalash (a pot with water, rice, a coin, and a coconut) at the entrance is believed to bring good luck.
Steps to Perform Lakshmi Puja
- Spread a red cloth on a raised platform and place Goddess Lakshmi on the right and Lord Ganesha on the left.
- On a white cloth, place nine small rice heaps to represent the navagraha (nine planets).
- Fill a kalash with water, rice grains, a coin, and a betel nut. Cover with mango leaves and a coconut on top.
- Make 16 small heaps of wheat or flour on the red cloth.
- Place gold or silver coins near Goddess Lakshmi to invite prosperity.
- Offer flowers, fruits, sweets, coins, and incense while chanting the Lakshmi Puja mantras.
