India’s white-ball cricketer Sanju Samson will captain the Kerala senior men’s team in the BCCI Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025/26 (Elite Group-A, League Stage) tournament, scheduled to take place in Lucknow
from November 26 to December 8, 2025.
The Kerala Cricket Association announced that the team, led by Samson, will depart for Lucknow on November 22, 2025, from Indore.
Samson, who recently transferred to the five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings from Rajasthan Royals in a trade involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, was part of the Indian squad that won the Asia Cup T20 in the UAE a few months ago. He aims to continue his recent form ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The squad, coached by former India batter Amay Khurasiya, also includes Vignesh Puthur, recently released by the Mumbai Indians. Other notable players are Mohammed Azharuddeen M and Rohan S Kunnummal.
