Two teenage boys swept away at Seraikela check dam, search underway

(Jharkhand), Sep 6 (PTI) Two teenage boys went missing after being washed away by the strong water currents of the Kharkhai check dam in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district on Sunday, police said.

On a weekend trip to the dam, the duo stepped into the water when the incident happened, they said.

A search operation was initiated with the help of local divers but to no avail, a police officer said.

The district administration has sought help from the NDRF and the search will resume on Monday, he added. PTI BS NSD
