'Ready To Hold Direct Talks': Zelenskyy Open To Meeting Putin At Miami G20 Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he remains open to meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Miami during the G20 Summit in December.

In an interview with German newspaper Deutsche Welle, Zelenskyy said he would travel to Miami, Florida, to attend the summit if Putin also participates. “Yes, of course. We must come. We must meet, talk, and make decisions,” he was quoted as saying.

Speaking about what a potential meeting with Putin could achieve, Zelenskyy said it should be judged by its outcome rather than the words exchanged between the two leaders. Putin is currently in New Delhi for the BRICS Summit.

“It is not about words. What I tell him, or what he wants to tell me… That does not matter. What matters are results,” Zelenskyy

was quoted as saying by the German outlet.

Zelenskyy has repeatedly called for direct talks with Putin as efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war continue. A meeting in Miami would be their first face-to-face encounter since December 2019.
