Mumbai Indian star Will Jacks became the latest addition to the five-time champion’s list of players to make a start in the IPL 2026 as the decorated side from the maximum city of the nation have used as many as 22 players in the ongoing season.
MI, who have had to endure a testing season, have been a far-from-settled-side, while injuries haven’t done them any favours either.
MI top the list of number of players fielded this season ahead of Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, who have played 19 different names each.
MI won the coin toss against SRH at the Wankhede and opted to have a bat first as Hardik Pandya and Co., who have had to endure a testing season, go in search of a much needed win.
Will Jacks and Ryan rickelton gave MI a quick star
as the duo put up a 93-run stand in rapid fashion before Jacks was sent back to the hut by Nitish Kumar Reddy for 46 off just 22 balls as Ishan Kishan completed the catching formalities.
Rickelton kept plugging away at his ends while Suryakumar Yadav, who has been woefully out of form in recent times, fell cheaply for 5 runs to Eshan Malinga. Rickelton went on to continue his innings and brought up his half-century while Naman Dhir added 22 runs before Praful Hinge got his man.
