Star Australia and Punjab Kings all-rounder Marcus Stoinis might be part of an upcoming trade deal between his franchise and the Lucknow Super Giants, who might offer Mohsin Khan in return ahead of the 20th edition of the Indian Premier League, according to a report in Sportstar.
Mohsin, when fit, is being seen as a very good option by the Punjab team management, as per the report, and hence, they are up for a trade deal involving Stoinis.
Punjab had acquired the Australian allrounder at the IPL 2025 mega auction in November 2024 for Rs 11 crore. They had outbid the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings, while his previous team, Lucknow Super Giants, chose not to exercise its Right to Match option.
Stoinis endured a mixed IPL 2025
campaign with Punjab, scoring 160 runs in 11 innings at an average of 26.67 and a strike rate of 186. He registered a high score of 44* and managed just one wicket in nine bowling innings.
Stoinis enjoyed a productive IPL 2026 season with Punjab, scoring 216 runs in 13 games at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 180. He struck 11 sixes and registered one fifty, with a highest score of 62*.
Stoinis chipped in with two wickets in four bowling innings as well, though at an economy rate of 12.51. His best performance came against Rajasthan Royals, against whom he smashed an unbeaten 62 off just 22 balls, including six sixes.
Lucknow had signed left-arm pacer Mohsin for Rs 20 lakh at the IPL 2022 mega auction in February that year. He had been part of the Mumbai Indians team but didn’t feature in an IPL game for them.
Mohsin enjoyed a breakthrough IPL 2022 campaign with Lucknow, picking up 14 wickets in nine games at an average of 14 and an economy rate of 5.97. His best figures of 4/16 came against Delhi Capitals, helping LSG bag a six-run win.
With a bowling strike rate of 14.14, Mohsin had emerged as one of the standout young pacers of the season.
