Delhi, Sep 1 (PTI) Armed men allegedly threatened shopkeepers and demanded extortion money in the E-Block market of northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on Tuesday evening, police sources said.
The men also allegedly took cash from an elderly shopkeeper after threatening him, although the total number of victims and the amount of money “extorted” was not known immediately.
The incident took place at around 6 pm, following which a police team reached the spot and started examining CCTV footage to identify the accused, said the police source.
The incident in the busy market has left shopkeepers and local residents worried. Several shopkeepers closed their shops and reached Jahangirpuri police station to lodge complaints, he added. PTI BM PRK
