India is moving closer to its first-ever bullet train as the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) speeds up work on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor, which will cover 508 km and include 12 stations. Currently, construction is moving quickly across Gujarat. Recently, an impressive image of the Surat City Station went viral online, showing its rapid progress and giving a glimpse of the futuristic design.
Since Surat is a diamond hub of the country, the design of the station’s exterior and interior is inspired by diamonds. The outer area of the building has already been completed and work is now focused on finishing the interior fittings, roofing and setting up station facilities.
