Vishal Bhardwaj Reacts To Nana Patekar Abruptly Leaving O Romeo Event Due To Delay

Patekar, were supposed to attend the event hosted in Mumbai, but Patekar left the venue abruptly. Later, Vishal Bhardwaj revealed that the reason behind the veteran actor walking out before the trailer launch was that the lead actors arrived at the event late.

Senior actor Nana Patekar attended the O Romeo trailer launch event in Mumbai, but as per Sam The Bestest, Nana reached the venue around 12 PM, while Triptii and Shahid arrived around 1:30 PM, and the veteran actor left disappointed with the delay. Frustrated by the nearly an hour and a half wait, Nana Patekar decided to leave the event before the trailer launched.

Shahid and Triptii had to go to a nearby theatre where another event related to the film was planned, which reportedly caused the delay. The leads had attended a poster launch event nearby before reaching the trailer launch.

After the trailer launch, while addressing the media, Vishal Bhardwaj spoke about Patekar’s exit and said, “Vo bachcha hota hai na class mein jo sabko bully karta hai, masti karta hai, and jiske sath sab rehna chahte hai, Nana vo hai.”

He further continued, “Vo hote toh acha hota, but vo apne signature style mein uthe or bole ‘mujhe 1 ghanta wait karvaya, mein jarha hai hoon’ or vo chale gaye, par hume iska bilkul bura nahi laga because we know him.”

As the news of Nana leaving the event has now gone viral, social media is backing the veteran actor for his decision. Reacting to the news, one tweeted, “Very good. They should respect senior actors. They should not think they are the main lead so they can do whatever they want. Good decision by Nana Patekar.” Another commented, “Nana Patekar is from a generation that values time and discipline. Making a senior actor and veteran wait for 1.5 hours is sheer disrespect. If you give a time, stick to it. Good on him for walking out!”

The film is also Triptii Dimri’s debut collaboration with Vishal and Shahid. Apart from Shahid and Triptii, the cast also includes Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey, Farida Jalal, and Tamannaah Bhatia. O Romeo is scheduled to hit theatres on February 13, 2026.
