BLACKPINK’s Rosé has once again set the internet buzzing—this time by candidly addressing her love life and the lengths she has gone to keep her relationships private.
The global K-pop star recently appeared on Call Her Daddy, where host Alex Cooper asked her the inevitable question about whether she was dating anyone. While Rosé didn’t offer a direct confirmation, her reaction was enough to spark intense speculation among fans.
“I feel if I say no, it’s such a lie, you can tell. I am looking for love,” Rosé said, instantly setting social media alight.
While the comment amused fans, the singer admitted that discussions about her dating life often leave her anxious, largely because of how relationships involving public figures are perceived and
scrutinised.
‘I Want To Protect The Person I Love’
Rosé explained that her reluctance to speak openly about relationships stems from a desire to shield the people closest to her from online hate and invasive attention.
“I’ve never been in a public relationship, and a lot of that is because I want to protect the person I love. It hurts more when people close to me get attacked. I’m okay being in the public eye it’s my job but it feels unfair when someone I care about gets dragged into it,” she said.
The singer added that the intensity of her fan base makes navigating relationships even more difficult.
“Right now, with the fan base I’ve experienced, I don’t know if I feel completely safe. Maybe in the future, if I really trust the media to protect me, I’d feel more comfortable. But for now, I think a lot of people understand what that feels like.”
Her comments resonated with fans, many of whom expressed support and relief that Rosé is prioritising her emotional well-being after previously hinting at a toxic past relationship.
Rosé’s ‘Granny Disguise’ To Avoid Paparazzi
Perhaps the most shocking—and entertaining—revelation from the interview was Rosé’s confession about disguising herself to avoid being photographed while dating her ex-boyfriend.
“Oh my gosh. I’ve had some crazy ones. I once was so paranoid… I was like, I can never be seen, ever. And I ordered online from — it’s basically like Amazon, but in Korea. I got a wig. A black curly wig, like a short one. And then I studied how older people—like elderly women—would dress on the street,” she recalled.
Rosé went on to explain how she meticulously researched outfits, accessories and mannerisms, dressing like a grandmother for months just to travel unnoticed.
“I’d be like, Okay, they wear that kind of skirt, those shoes, that kind of bag. I would study it, order it, and then dress up.”
She added that because she and her ex could never be seen together publicly, she often travelled to his house in disguise, especially to avoid Dispatch, which is notorious for exposing celebrity couples.
