India’s batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi endured a disappointing outing in the Under-19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. Chasing a daunting target of 348, the left-handed opener began aggressively, racing to 24 off nine balls, before edging a short-pitched delivery from pacer Ali Raza to the wicketkeeper, a dismissal that also triggered a rare moment of visible frustration from the usually calm teenager.
Ali Raza’s Send-Off Sparks Heated Exchange
As Suryavanshi walked back to the pavilion, Ali Raza gave him a fiery send-off. The celebration appeared to anger the young Indian opener, who lost his cool and exchanged a few words with Raza and other Pakistan players.
Suryavanshi was also seen making gestures while pointing towards his shoe, clearly responding to the provocation
rather than walking away silently.

Suryavanshi began his innings in emphatic fashion, striking a six off the very first ball he faced from Ali Raza. The audacious shot left the Pakistani fast bowler stunned, and Raza did not say a word during that over.
However, after dismissing Suryavanshi in the fifth over, Raza began sledging him. The aggressive celebration following the wicket further infuriated the Indian batter, who locked eyes with Raza and gestured while pointing towards his shoe.
India’s Chase Collapses Under Pressure
Suryavanshi returned to the pavilion after scoring 26 runs off just 10 balls. His dream of lifting the trophy in Dubai remained unfulfilled as India succumbed to the pressure of the massive target.
The Indian batting line-up crumbled one after another, losing wickets cheaply while attempting to chase the mammoth score. Pakistan went on to defeat India and clinched the Under-19 Asia Cup title for the second time.

Pakistan’s Mammoth Total Of 347 For 8
Batting first, Pakistan posted an imposing total of 347 for 8. Sameer Minhas once again showcased his brilliance, scoring a magnificent century to anchor the innings.
Minhas, one of Pakistan’s standout performers throughout the tournament, smashed 172 runs off 113 balls, registering his second century of the competition. He reached the three-figure mark off just 71 deliveries.
Sameer Minhas Dominates Indian Bowlers
India won the toss and opted to bowl, but Pakistan, who had reached the final after a commanding eight-wicket win over defending champions Bangladesh, never allowed the Indian bowlers to take control.
Sameer Minhas, the younger brother of Pakistan T20 cricketer Arafat Minhas, attacked relentlessly. He particularly targeted new-ball bowlers Kishan Singh and Deepesh Devendran, striking 17 fours and nine sixes during his innings.
Minhas brought up his century with a boundary off Devendran in the 29th over.
Indian Batting Struggles Despite Brief Resistance
For India, Devesh Devendran and Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed brief resistance with a few impressive strokes but failed to take the team over the line. Captain Ayush Mhatre was dismissed cheaply for just two runs.
Pakistan’s total proved too steep, and India’s chase fizzled out under sustained pressure.
Pakistan scored 347 for 8 and successfully defended the total to lift the trophy.
Earlier in the tournament, India had beaten Pakistan by 90 runs in a group-stage match on the same ground, making the final defeat even more disappointing for the Indian side.
