Sunita Ahuja — wife of Govinda — took a cheeky dig at her husband’s past accident while interacting with her nephew Krushna Abhishek and his wife Kashmera Shah during her guest appearance on cooking show, Laughter Chefs. Referring to the widely reported October 2024 incident in which Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg while handling his licensed revolver, Sunita joked, “Apni biwi ki respect karta hai, woh zindagi bhar jo hero hota hai na, phir woh aankhiyon se goli maarta hai, jahan third party mein chalaata hai, o ghutnon pe goli maare,” adding a cheeky wordplay on Govinda’s hit song Akhiyon Se Goli Maare.
In another clip, Nia Sharma said of her pairing with comedian Sudesh Lehri, “Acchi pairing nahi hai, na maza nahi aaya, na?” Kashmeera
looked at Krushna and joked, “Yeh apni pairing udhar karna chahta hai.” Sunita then went on to say, “Nahi nahi, inn log ki aadat hai. Goli maarne padti hai inn logon ko.”
Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg on October 1, 2024, at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai. The incident took place early in the morning, around 4–4:45 AM, when he was handling his licensed revolver before leaving for a trip. According to reports, the gun slipped from his hand and accidentally went off, with the bullet hitting his leg near the knee area. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Andheri West, where doctors removed the bullet and kept him under observation in the ICU. While there was significant blood loss, the injury was not life-threatening and he was later discharged after treatment.
Initial speculation around the incident led to rumours of foul play, but family members, including his niece, later clarified that it was a freak accident during routine handling of his licensed firearm, with no external involvement.
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been married since 1987, but their relationship has recently come into focus after Sunita spoke openly about rumours of his alleged infidelity. In recent interviews, she said she had heard about him being involved with another woman, at one point mentioning a “young Marathi girl,” though she also downplayed it and said she does not see it as something serious. Despite the comments, Sunita has made it clear that she continues to stand by her marriage, and there has been no confirmed separation.
