Baroda opener Amit Pasi on Wednesday smashed a 64-ball hundred, going on to play a match-winning knock against Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, days after his world-record T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq
Ali Trophy.
Pasi made his T20 debut for Baroda in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and made an immediate impact. Opening against Services, he blasted 10 fours and nine sixes to reach 114 off just 55 deliveries.
In the process, Pasi equalled Bilal Asif’s world record for the highest score on T20 debut, becoming only the 10th player in men’s T20 history to score a hundred on debut.

Interestingly, that was Pasi’s only match in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He made his List A debut last week against Assam, scoring a quick 11 off just five deliveries before getting out.
In just his second match, Pasi replicated his T20 debut heroics. Opening alongside Nitya Pandya, he blasted a 64-ball hundred, finishing 127 off 93. The pair put together a 230-run opening partnership in 30 overs.
Baroda skipper Krunal Pandya also joined the fireworks with a hundred as the team posted a whopping 417/4 in 50 overs.
Hyderabad gave Baroda a scare during the chase, but the target proved too steep as they were bowled out for 380.
Although the sample size is tiny, Pasi’s early senior career record is brilliant. With a hundred in his only T20, he boasts an average of 114 and a strike rate of 207.27, while in List A cricket, his average and strike rate stand at 69 and 140.81, respectively.
Pasi has been part of the Baroda cricket circuit for some time, but an opportunity in the senior team took a long while to arrive.
