A bright smile, uncontrollable giggles and a moment of pure joy – that is what a 10-year-old boy with cerebral palsy experienced when a stranger took him for a spin on the ice. And as he beamed with happiness, the internet couldn’t help but smile along.
Bleu Greenwood, from Leicester, Leicestershire, faces numerous health challenges that include stage five quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy and severe tracheomalacia and bronchomalacia, SWNS reported. He relies on ventilation to help keep his airways open and spent six months on life support earlier this year. Despite these challenges, his family wanted to give him a special outing.
A Special Ice Skating Outing The Greenwood family took Bleu to the National Ice Centre in Nottingham, England,
where his excitement grew when a stranger approached him and offered to take him for a spin on the rink.
Tyler, a hockey player, guided Bleu’s wheelchair across the ice. The video shows Bleu’s face lit up with laughter as he is with his mother, Rielle Chapple, cheering in the background.
“Bleu was very excited to go ice skating as it’s not something he gets to do normally in his life. He gave the man a big smile when he grabbed onto his wheelchair to whizz him off,” Rielle told SWNS.
She explained further that it was incredible to see Tyler making Bleu laugh and enjoy himself while keeping him safe and steady on the ice.
“It was special that Bleu was able to have all his close family in one place, all having fun together, somewhere Bleu was able to be involved. As a mother, I felt incredibly happy to watch my son smile and laugh with joy. All I have ever wanted for Bleu was for him to be included in fun activities for his age and I felt very overwhelmed to watch this happen,” Rielle added.
