Yuvraj's Tweet For Abhishek Sharma After He Slams Fastest T20I Century For India Goes Viral

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to X on Friday to post a tweet for Abhishek Sharma, a day after the left-handed batter from Amritsar broke the record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian.

Abhishek opened the innings for India in the third T20I against Afghanistan on Thursday and played a knock of 108 runs off 34 balls. He needed just 30 balls to reach the 100-run mark for the hosts and hammered a total of nine fours and 11 sixes during his stay at the crease.

Impressed by Abhishek’s superb show with the bat in the match, which India won by 128 runs to clinch the series 3-0, Yuvraj congratulated him and stated that he had no doubt that, with his talent, Abhishek would achieve the feat of scoring the fastest T20I century for India one

day.

He then went on to add that Abhishek will break many more T20I records in the future. Yuvraj also said that he is proud of Abhishek and advised him to stay humble and keep following the process.

Since making his international debut for India in T20Is against Zimbabwe on July 6, 2024, in Harare, Abhishek has taken the world by storm. He has more than 1,500 runs and 100-plus sixes to his credit in T20Is, and he is the first Indian player to hit three T20I centuries in three consecutive calendar years.

In the third T20I against Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium, apart from breaking the record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian, Abhishek also broke the record for the fastest T20I century by a player from a Test-playing nation and the fastest century against a Test-playing nation. Both records were previously held by Finn Allen of New Zealand.

Allen had scored a century in 33 balls for New Zealand against South Africa in the first semifinal of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
