The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Monday announced a major cash reward scheme to celebrate India’s young achievers from the Youth Asian Games held recently in Bahrain.
Under the new initiative, gold,
silver and bronze medalists will receive ₹5 lakh, ₹3 lakh, and ₹2 lakh respectively, while fourth-place finishers will also be rewarded with ₹50,000 each.

Adding to the celebrations, both the gold-winning men’s and women’s kabaddi teams will each receive ₹10 lakh, recognizing their dominant performances at the continental event. Coaches, too, haven’t been forgotten — each medal-winning coach will receive ₹1 lakh for their contribution.
India finished sixth overall at the October 23–31 Games, securing a total of 48 medals –13 gold, 18 silver, and 17 bronze. Boxing led the charge with four golds, while beach wrestling and kabaddi added three and two top finishes respectively.
In its official release, the IOA said the rewards reflect India’s “growing strength and depth” in youth sport.
“The IOA recognizes that such performances are the result of sustained effort, rigorous training, and invaluable guidance provided by coaches and support staff,” the statement read.
“A special ceremony will soon be held to felicitate all medal winners, coaches, and athletes who secured fourth positions.”
IOA president P. T. Usha praised the contingent’s spirited performance, calling it a glimpse into the future of Indian sport.
“Their achievements reflect the future of Indian sport and the potential that lies within our youth. The IOA remains fully committed to providing every possible support to nurture and develop this emerging talent,” she said.
The IOA also lauded the role of the National Sports Federations, coaches, and support teams who have helped build a thriving ecosystem for the country’s young athletes.
