Kheri, May 5 (PTI) A tigress was killed in a territorial conflict with a tiger in the forests of the Dudhwa National Park’s buffer zone here on Tuesday, forest officials said.
The carcass of the tigress, bearing multiple injury marks indicative of a violent clash, was recovered from the Majhgain range, Kirti Chaudhary, Deputy Director of the Dudhwa buffer zone, said.
“The injuries on the body suggest that the tigress died following a conflict with a male tiger,” she said, adding that the carcass was brought to the range headquarters, where a postmortem examination was conducted in accordance with National Tiger Conservation Authority guidelines by a panel of three veterinary doctors.
