A Bengaluru-based Gen Z content creator who recently went viral for announcing that he would quit his “boring” full-time job posted a candid update online, saying he now regrets the decision amid a difficult
job market.
In a video shared on Instagram, Aanshul Uthaiah, 22, said he resigned from his job without a backup plan and has since struggled to secure new opportunities.
“I quit my job with no plan and I had my first job interview after that. And to be honest, I kinda regret my decision of quitting my job,” he said.
“I underestimated how hard it would be. Why is the job market so bad? I’ve been searching for a while now but there are no jobs,” Aanshul Uthaiah added.

He said it might now be “too late” to reverse his decision and ended the video by asking viewers to message him if they were aware of any job openings. The clip was captioned, “Why is the job market so badddd…..”
The update comes days after Aanshul Uthaiah went viral for a video in which he announced that he planned to quit his full-time role the very next day. In that earlier post, he said he found his job “very boring” and felt he was “wasting” his time. He also revealed that while he had received admission offers from two universities in Australia for higher studies, he chose not to pursue them as he was not interested in studying further.
At the time, Aanshul Uthaiah acknowledged that his parents were unhappy with his decision to leave a steady job.
Following the initial video, Aanshul Uthaiah’s social media presence grew rapidly. From around 10,000 followers at the time, his Instagram following has since crossed 32,000.
The latest post has drawn a mix of advice and encouragement from users.
“That’s why it is important to balance both a job and whatever else you love,” one user commented while another wrote, “Accepting this publicly takes courage. Wishing you the best.”
