David Reddy is set during the British colonial era, spanning the years 1897 to 1920, a period that saw resistance against oppressive rule. Manoj plays the titular role of David Reddy, a fearless fighter who dares to stand up to British tyranny.
Directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti and produced by Nallagangula Venkat Reddy and Bharat Motukuri, the film is mounted on a lavish scale. It is being made as a pan-India project, releasing simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, aiming to reach audiences across the country.
International Energy In David Reddy
Bringing fresh energy to the film is Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka, who plays the female lead. Indian audiences may remember her as Jessica, the British character in Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince. Her performance in the Tamil film earned praise and her presence in David Reddy is expected to add an interesting international touch to the narrative. Maria has earlier shared that she chose Prince as her Indian debut because of its script and director Anudeep’s unique style.
Manchu Manoj’s Last Film
Manchu Manoj was last seen in Mirai where he impressed audiences with his role of antagonist. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, the mythological film was packed with high-octane action and cutting-edge VFX. It blended the magic of Indian folklore with modern superhero storytelling. The supporting cast of the film includes Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Ritika Nayak, Jayaram and Getup Srinu.
Mirai follows a young man who is chosen by fate to carry a mystical staff, a powerful divine weapon. As he struggles to accept this role, the film takes viewers on an emotional journey inspired by Indian mythology.
