Man With Fake PMO ID Card Detained In Mumbai Ahead Of PM Modi Event, Gun Recovered From His Bodyguard

In a big security scare, a gun was recovered from a man at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) today.

Two individuals have been detained from the venue. One of them allegedly claimed to be an official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The detained individual has been identified as 24-year-old Rohan Parekh. Sources said Parekh was carrying a fake PMO identity card, which security personnel found to be forged during verification.

Parekh was accompanied by a bodyguard who was carrying a gun, sources said.

The Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting further investigation into the matter.

Global Fintech Fest 2026

The seventh edition of

the Global Fintech Fest is being held in Mumbai from September 8 to 11, 2026.
