One of the most eagerly awaited horror comedies in recent times, Bhooth Bangla has finally locked its theatrical release date. Starring Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, the film is officially set to arrive in cinemas on May 15, 2026, much to the delight of fans who have been eagerly tracking updates since the project was announced.
The film marks the much-anticipated reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years, a collaboration that has previously delivered several cult comedy hits. Ever since the first poster of Bhooth Bangla was unveiled, followed by an intriguing motion poster, excitement around the project has steadily grown. The announcement of the release date has now taken the buzz to an all-time high.

the release date by sharing the official poster on social media, along with a caption that read, “Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai! The doors open on 15th May 2026. See you in cinemas #BhoothBangla”
The announcement has further fuelled anticipation, with fans thrilled to see the master of horror comedy, Priyadarshan, team up once again with Akshay Kumar, an actor synonymous with the genre. Known for blending slapstick humour with eerie setups, the duo is expected to recreate the magic that audiences have been craving for years.
What makes Bhooth Bangla even more exciting is its impressive ensemble cast. Alongside Akshay Kumar, the film features Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The project is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali and backed by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik, while the screenplay has been penned by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. Dialogues are by Rohan Shankar.
