There has been no dearth of drama in the ongoing second Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Sylhet. As the visitors chase a mammoth 437 to level the series, Day 4 witnessed a heated exchange between Mohammed Rizwan and Liton Das. But what followed was even more hilarious. The Bangladeshi players sledged the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter in unison, even uttering a famous dialogue from the Indian film Hera Pheri.
It was the 72nd over of Pakistan’s chase when Rizwan, stationed at the crease, interrupted bowler Taijul Islam just as he was about to release the ball, citing some disturbance near the sightscreen. Rizwan’s act left Bangladesh wicketkeeper Liton Das fuming, as he asked, “What is your problem. Can’t you bat here? You are continuously
interrupting the bowler.”

After the over ended, Rizwan approached the umpire to seemingly flag the hosts’ behaviour. That is when the Bangladesh fielders collectively accused the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter of ‘overacting’.
“Overacting ke liye hum 50 paise kaatenge [We’ll deduct 50 paise for overacting],” one of them was heard saying on the stump mic.

Mohammad Rizwan’s frustration was understandable as Bangladesh moved to the brink of a memorable Test series win in Sylhet. Chasing a daunting 437, Pakistan ended Day 4 on 316/7, still needing 121 runs. Rizwan remained unbeaten on 75 alongside Sajid Khan on eight.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam led the charge with 4/113, removing key batters including Babar Azam (47) and Salman Agha (71). Pakistan had slumped to 162/5 before Rizwan and Agha stitched a crucial 134-run stand to revive hopes of what would be a record chase.
Earlier, Shan Masood and Azam steadied the innings after early setbacks, but Bangladesh fought back through Taijul and Nahid Rana. With three wickets remaining, the hosts are closing in on their first-ever home Test series win over Pakistan, having already taken the opening match.
