Lucknow Super Giants faced Kolkata Knight Riders in their eighth match of the ongoing IPL 2026 season on Sunday, April 26, but suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the Super Over. After both teams managed to score 155 runs in their respective 20 overs, legendary spinner Sunil Narine picked up two wickets for KKR and conceded just one run in the first three balls of the Super Over. KKR then chased down the two-run target in one ball to seal the deal.
The victory by KKR on Sunday is their second win of the ongoing season, whereas LSG have now lost six out of eight matches.
LSG’s sixth defeat of the ongoing season has now put their chances of qualifying for the IPL 2026 playoffs in danger.

bottom of the points table with just 4 points from eight matches. They are still alive in the IPL 2026 playoffs race, but their hopes are on a knife’s edge now.

In the 2025 edition of the IPL, DC finished fifth in the points table with 15 points and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
